HeatherWestworth Report 18 Aug 2006 00:16

Hi Penelope After such a great job of finding the Westworths for me, I wonder if you can help me in so much as tracing another Relative: Here goes Mary Ann Robinson born 1875 Apr – June Preston Married Thomas Fazackerley Oct – Dec 1894, I have copy of their Marriage Certificate, however, her Father Richard was deceased ?? and yes here comes the questions…. 1881 Census – No Trace of her could you look on 1871 for me. Richard Robinson 1871 Census – Who was he married to, names of wife & children. Then if possible names of his parents. This is all the information that I have without seeing the census. I hope that it will be of some use. Look forward to hearing from you Heather

Silly Sally Report 18 Aug 2006 08:12

Hi Penelop You are one busy lady. I have found out a bit more since we last spoke. My Catherine Norwood was born in Weston Turville, Buckingham around 1864. She married James Deering on the 24th April 1882 in Weston Turville, Buckingham. She is as far as I go back with my maternal great grandparents, so I would be very interested in her parents names and siblings that might show up on the 71 or 81 census. Next project will be her entry into Australia. Thanking you for the time and effort you put into this. Trish....Australia

Donna Report 18 Aug 2006 11:07

Hi Pen, I'm back to some long distance brickwall demolition....she hopes..... I've a couple of families that will be in Renfrewshire in the 1841 census. The first is the Scott family who I'm hoping were consisting of the following:- Robert Scott, born circa 1800, believed to be a farmer (as per son's death cert). Robert Scott, born circa 1832 poss Bridge of Weir Renfrewshire (well that's what he states on later census and he married in Kilbarchan, just down the road). On his death cert his morhter's name is down as Lilian McTavish....if all 3 are together on the census that'd be great. The next is the Thorburn family (or Thornburn as per IGI extracted entry) probably in the parish of Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire. They should be William Thornburn born circa 1800 Ann Thorburn nee Thom(p)son born circa 1800 and Elizabeth born circa 1834 and she gives her place of birth as Houston, Renfrewshire on later census but she married in Kilbarchan. Any help on either of these would be great and after reading about your Hot Choc, I'm off to have a forage in my cupboards for some, sounds like a grand idea. Bye for now Donna x

Frances

Frances Report 18 Aug 2006 11:10

Hi Pen, If you are having similar rain to us you will not be out there excavating chicken wire..... was it to stop rabbits burrowing out or foxes burrowing in? I am still working for the would be cousin, who isn't, but now I've started etc. There are some glaring errors in her tree so I have been trying to work backwards ignoring what has apparently been found but for the Brooms I will make an exception, in the hope it will allow you to find them in 1851. John Broom and Jemima Fisher (according to me - FreeBMD) get married in 1841 near Stowmarket and start with Angelina 1842 (who I assume dies as there is another in the 50s) then Harry 1844, Rebecca 1845, Anna 1848, William 1850, and on. Please can you see if all this info will enable you to find them in '51. Many thanks, David
