Lesley, Yes thanks, I have gt grandfather William Michael, and I'm fairly certain I have his parents who were born in Leinster province, Ireland. It's gt grandmother Rebecca who seems to be causing my rapid loss of hair! One possible distant cousin suggested she was a ward of Queen Victoria on the Isle of Wight - that's totally unfounded as far as I can determine, but shows the desperate state trying to track her down has got me into!!!! Hi again Lesley, Thanks for the marriage info for Rebecca; William Michael Canny is OK - I now have their marriage cert. sorted out, but unfortunately her age is given only as 'minor'. Her father's name was Thomas Bowers Blake. The 1901 census has her widowed, living in Croydon, age 47, born Harrow Middx. I just can't find anything more about Rebecca's parents, siblings etc. Is there any more you can suggest? Thanks again Mike
