Hi Zoe Can you help with an ancient mystery? I'm trying to find any link between the Horrox family in Keighley - early 18th century and the Horrox family in Kildwick from 1580ish to 1800. No census info - but i'm pretty much a novice - and little experience with parish register. Grateful for any suggestions. Thanks judith

Raymond/Ann Do you think this might be her in 1861? Name: Elizabeth Osborne Age: 14 Estimated birth year: abt 1847 Relation: Servant Gender: Female Where born: Tranmere, Cheshire, England Civil parish: Birkenhead Ecclesiastical parish: St John Town: Birkenhead County/Island: Cheshire Country: England Source information: RG9/2643 Registration district: Birkenhead Sub-registration district: Birkenhead ED, institution, or vessel: 21 Folio: 137 Page: 17 Household schedule number: 93 GSU Number: 543004 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Can't see the above in 1851!..! Had a look for the marriage and the birth Nearest I can find is Name: Elizabeth Osborn Year of Registration: 1845 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec District: Wirral (1837-1974) County: Cheshire Volume: 19 Page: 306 Tranmere and Birkenhead REGISTRATION DISTRICTS Wirral (1837-61); Birkenhead (1861-98) Hope this is of some help It's such a shame there is no sign of the marriage as that would help establish the right birth cert with checking point..As I said the above birth cert is the nearest I can find. Maybe they got married later than you think I have seen some ancestors say they are married then get married 20 or so years after 1st child ~ always a thought. Zoe

Rose Well I don't know what to suggest I looked through all the houses on Upper Fenton Street in 1891 and no joy arrrgghhh took me ages to find the street, all I can suggest is that you search the Christchurch parish of ST GEO IN THE EAST you may find them hidden somewhere LOL..a very long task if you have already done this I don't know what to suggest.. Without even knowing who she married is a bit hard.. Have you found Ann Eliza or George in the 1901 census on Georges birth cert did he have a middle name?? Zoe

Judith You will need to access the parish registers for the places you are interested in.. Ask on main Records board for info on how to do that I know many people are experts at working out parish records sorry I couldn't be more helpful.. Zoe
