Hello Jacqui; Could you please look for my Cartwright family, most likely in Tipton or thereabouts. From the 1841 census and the 1861 census for Tipton, the family in 1851 should be : Thomas Cartwright Head 40yo Forgeman or Iron worker Ann Wife 33 Edward Son 10 Mary Dau 6 John Son 3 On the limited searches I have been able to make I haven't been able to find them and I would really appreciate it if you can. Regards John C

Jacqueline, Please excuse the geographic ignorance of a Scotsman but do the Aston and St Martin areas of Birmingham fall within Staffordshire.Someone has already checked the 1851 census for Warwickshire for me without success. I am looking for Samuel Oakes a Brassfounder born c 1808 and who married Ann Stinton in 1829 at Aston Juxta. Their son Thomas Oakes (also a Brassfounder) was born 1834 and married Sarah Green in 1856 at Aston. Sarah was born 1837 at St Martin, B'ham and her parents were John Green and Eleanor Hadley. Any information on any of the above would be appreciated. Les Harris

Hello Jackie Thank you for the work you have done on my behalf, the info. you have just given me doesn't seem to relate to my line of Cartwrights. I have a lot of info re Cartwrights in Tipton around that period and I will need to look to see where the ones you have given me fit in. It would appear that my family, the ones in my original request are not in Staffs. on that night, although they are there in the 1841 and 1861 censuses. I need to look in Worcs. to see if they have moved. Thanks again for what you have done, I will get back to you if I have any other ideas as to where they may be. Regards John C
