Hi Nikki, Many thanks for your offer. Could you look on 1851 Census for Gloucestershire for me please? I'm looking for Samuel STEPHENS b1810 Rodborough, wife Eliza and children. Also, Eliza WHITE born Randwick 1835. Especially interested in her parents. If you have time, John & Eliza STEPHENS and Samuel & Mary SMITH. All probably born in 1780s and probably in Rodborough. Most grateful, kind regards, Emily

Hi Nikki, Thanks very much for the offer. Please could you have a look on 1861/71 for William Hughes, born about 1858 in Cardiganshire (not sure of the exact place because in 1881-1901 he gives three different birthplaces: Cardigan, Aberayon and Llanarth). Thanks, Michael

Michael Report 5 Sep 2005 21:37

Hi Nikki, Thanks, that's probably the right one but I can't be sure, as I've no other record of William before his marriage in 1878. The marriage certificate would give his father's name, but that wouldn't be much use in checking the census entry because it looks like his father was either living elsewhere in 1871, or was dead. I'll see if I can find anything in 1881. Best wishes, Michael
