Adam Do you intend sending for the certs, if you do can you reply and let us know what the outcome is. Would love to see if it all comes together. To the rest of you that contributed, 'GREAT TEAM EFFORT', took a while but think it all turned out rather well. Victor

Christopher Sorry mate you must have been tired as I was then and missed it. (don't intent to be judgemental) I must be honest, had started to resort to checking the Maiden names listed on every page to each Wicks marriage. Saw your post and didn't bother for quite some time to look on 1837, and my first intention was to look after the birth, but then thought if it were after the birth she would not have been registered as Wicks. Still never mind got there in the end. Victor.

**VICTOR** You are BRILLIANT ! I now believe that between you all, Adam has got : Death of Dorothy R Birth of Dorothy R Wicks (1918) Marriage of Bert Wicks & Rose Simpkins (1917) and possibly both Rose Simpkins and Bert Wicks on the 1901 census with their parents !! .... but Adam, you do need the birth cert of Dorothy to confirm her parents ... and the Marriage cert of Bert & Rose to confirm who their Fathers were and the occupations etc. Good Luck Adam Fantastic work Victor & Chris. Dancer X

Bearing in mind that Adam told us there was an 'uncle Leonard' - I found a Rose simpkins age 14 and brother Leonard in Luton on 1901 (posted many replies ago) I agree it is probably them. drove me bonkers last night too! Jess

Been reading throough again to try and get my head around some of the things that have come up. Dancer The information I gave on the birth came from 1837. I worked my way back from 1919 until I found Dorothy R. I am trying to get the connection to Rose(?) Simpkins but cant find it. Victor

GOOD MORNING ALL. Sorry I missed all that action lost night but just had to go to bed. Anyway where were we. Adam Are you comfortable with the information I gave you being your Dorothy? Dancer I agree Adam will have to send for the certificate to prove or disprove this information. Christopher You say you have searched 1901 to 1913 and come up with the following Bertie A.Wicks Blything 4a 2469 OND 1911 Joseph Wicks Luton 3b 981 Hubert William Wicks Lewes 2b 349 Herbert Wicks Peterboro 3b 327 Is this from 1837? Jonathan You have the death that looks like the same person Name: DOROTHY ROSE ROWE Death Registration Month/Year: Oct/84 Age: 65 Birth Date: 7 NOV 1918 District: Colchester Inferred County: Essex Volume: 9 Page: 2036 Sorry if I missed any information out. It's when it is spread over so many pages and posts it gets rather confusing. Do we think there is a marriage for this couple before the birth of Dorothy?? Victor
