Hi,im totaly new to finding my family tree, ive tried, but getting nowhere, maybe you can help me or point me in right direction. Ive tried some of the big internet sites but getting nowhere. ive been told to start with my fathers line, and got my fathers dads death certificate and his wifes,so i think i need there birth certificates,so if you can help me,maybe have a look for me then show me what to do,that would be fantastic. my grandad was born on 22nd november 1894 at greenwich in london his name was frederick thomas hough, and he died on 26th of october 1977.he was a lighterman[retired] My grandmother was born on16th august 1891 at tottenham.haringey, her name was gladys elizabeth hough[maiden name thompson],and died on 31 august 1980. I think her original family came from cornwall, but all my family have died now so its hard to get info from them. If you can help, thats lovely, but im a bit confused ,mainly finding certificates and then finding out the best way to buy them, either on line or post, thanks again, from dave, My email is [email protected]

Hello Mary Thank you for the look up I'm not sure if its the right Alice or not to be honest I know she was 1 year old on the 1861 census so I guess this has to be her if there are no others. Thank you for your help. Frances

Darren No sign of them in Pendleton.Do you know where they were born so I can narrow it down a bit.A search for James Gregory in Lancs brings up about 300 names about half of them between 40 and 60years old so I need more info. Mary

Constance - it's so annoying because I have them all on 1901 census as Head/ wife but cannot find the marriages. I suppose they still might not have been married? x

Hi Lorraine(Lorr) in Southampton Sorry but I cannot locate any of the Marriages you were asking for. Are you sure they all got wed. Ilooked for a marriage for Alfred and Sarah in 1885and 1886 as their daur Mabel was born in 1887 but could not tie them up(haha). as for the others so difficult without maiden names cos you cannot cross check. Good luck Mary
