Hello Robin Thank you once again for your help. I'm afraid I don't have anyone as posh as a Surgeon in my family - I'm interested in a Thomas Howley who was a servant with this family in the 1841. I contacted you before about Thomas, when you told me he was working as a servant, and living in Worksop.in 1841. Have since found out he was working for this family. I was hoping that he may still have been with them in 1851 (possibly with his name mistranscribed), as you couldn't find him before on 1851. Unfortunately, he's not! He's one of those people who just seems to have vanished off the face of the earth! Thanks again.

Ann Notts 1851 Piece 2122, Worksop Folio 51, 55 Potter Street William G Beardsall, Head , Mar, 50 yrs, Surgeon &General Practioner, Eliza , wife 33yrs, Barbara May/Mary Dau 12yrs,Elizabeth ???{Deakin?} UnMar 15yrs General Servant, All b Worksop. These three are all on the 1841 Census at Gateford Road, Worksop. I am not sure if you are tracking Beardsall or the servants as there is another Beardsall at 64 Potter Street who is also a Surgeon, with family and servants. Also looking at the 1841 Census the heads of these two families may be brothers with a father George who was also a Surgeon and married a Barbara in 1799. Let me know if you want details.

You're right Robin -2 of Anthoneye Winge and Ursula Baxter's children were christened at Denton. They certainly got around as they married in W Allington. Being ag labs suppose they went where the work was, mostly seasonal. Jackie

Jackie I have Anthony Wing of West Allington married at Staunton 21st May 1761 to Sarah Atkinson, which looks like the one you already have. Denton is about 4/5 miles away so I would imagine there will be connections eventually. Thanks for the e mail. Nice to know we got there in the end.!

Ann The answer is no Sorry. As I am working from a transcription surname indexed all I can tell you is that there are no other Howleys at Gateford Road. House numbers are not given so you would need to see the original to find out who he is working for.

On 28/6 you kindly told me about Thomas Howley working as a servant, aged 15, living Gateford Rd, Worksop, on the 1841 census. Would it be possible for you to give me exact address, and all other members of the household. Thank You.

Hi Robin Not too sure about the Rotherham link. Some did go there around mid 1800s and married and settled Sheffield/ Doncaster etc working in the iron foundries etc. Really the E allington ones i'm after. I see there are loads from Denton. What is the likelihood that there was a connection between them and those in E Allington? It's Anthony b c 1736 I'm after married Sarah Atkinson. Absolutely nothing (think you may have looked before for him) tHere are anthonys before him in E Allington, his son Anthony but nothing for his birth on IGI. If you do have the time to look, would be very grateful if it's not too much trouble. His son Anthony died Sedgebrook. Jackie
