Hi Linda Many thanks for your offer. Would appreciate any information you can give me about John Weston born 1833/1834. He was resident at Crag-head at the time off his marriage in 1860 which took place in Pelton. I have details from the 1881 census which gives his residence as 3 Garden Row, Witton Gilbert, also that he was born in Chester le Street. Have you any details about him and his family for the dates you mention? He married Thomasine Pinkney and his father's name was also John. Regards Cheryl

Hi Linda, Thank you so much for your help. I am not convinced that they are the correct ones. Could I ask you to look for the whole of Durham? Gail

Linda

Linda Report 4 Oct 2004 17:33

Gail - the disks are not indexed and run to 5 disks in 1871! That's why I ask for an area of a town, to make the search a little easier for me. Even a village can run to 200 pages, which is a lot to go through. Linda

Chezza Report 4 Oct 2004 19:58

Hi Linda Thanks for the look-up for John Weston. The only other info I have on him is that he was a miner and his father was also called John- which probably isnt much help!- and that he later lived in Sacriston where several of his children were born. Other children were apparently born in Annfield and Ushaw Moor which is info from the 1881 census. Would appreciate any help you can give. Regards Cheryl
