Thank You Linda! Yes this is them. It also confirms the maiden name as Pace since the mother-in-law is living with them. Could you find them in Carrville in 1861? Thanks a million! Angela

Hi Linda. Could you possibly find anything on Thomas Race or Sarah Hewitson, in either 1841 1851 or 1861 censuses. Thomas was born c 1837 in Gainford or Staindrop, Co Durham Father Thomas RaceMother unknown. Sarah was born c 1841, possibly in Staindrop, Father George Hewitson, Mother unknown. I think they were in Staindrop, all or most of there lives. Aso could you find Thomas and Sarah Race in Staindrop in the 1871 Census, they would be round 34 and 28 respectivly, Any info at all would be great, Thank you in advance ,Regards, Maggie.

Linda Could you look on HO 107/2400 folios 1-417 which cover Jarrow, St hilda's South shields, Westoe etc for my SMALL family? I'm particularly looking for Francis, Charles, Robert, Nicholas, Dorothy.... It's just dawned on me that the reason they're not on HO 107/2399 might be they're on the next piece!!!! thanks

Russell Report 20 Aug 2004 09:52

Hello Linda, Thankyou for your kind offer. I am looking for a Ralph Nicholson who is living in Colliery Row, Houghton le Spring in 1871. I know the piece number is 4980. I do not know his age but he was the informant at the death of my ggg grandmother Isabella Nicholson later that year. Isabella is living with her husband John on the census but they both died later in 1871. Hopefully if you can find him for us, we can work out the family relationship and hopefully progress further on that line. Thankyou once again Russell
