Hi Linda Could you look for a family of Murrays living at Jeffreys Rake in Hunstanworth in 1841 (I believe it comes under Stanhope & Weardale area) They were there from 1851 - 1881 so hopefully they'll be there before that as well. Kay

Sorry, I didn't say, it was 1871. I'm trying to do my own 'index' to make searching easier, so if I come across them, I'll let you know Linda

Thanks Linda, Thanks Linda. At this stage, I dont have a street or area of Shields, but will keep you in mind when I have more information. What census was the above for? I have Elizabeth Elliott (a new link for our family tree). She was mentioned as a grand niece, the informant on a death certificate in 1891, age 35 years. Now trying to find who she is and who she belongs to.

Hello Linda, I'm new to this so please bear with me. I need to find out about James Mulholland born 1871c lived in Monkton Rd, Jarrow at time of 1901 census, how about prior to this ? Also George Bell born 1873c again at time of 1901 census lived at Lime Street Jarrow. If poss I would like to know where they lived as children and who their parents were. Is this a tall order ? I live in hope and thank you for your kind offer. Sharon Faux.

Hello - you've already done one lookup for me but I thought I would push my luck and ask for another - hope that's OK. I'm hoping you can find my HARRISON family in Kyo,for the 1851 census. Margaret should be just 1 year old and Mary Ann should be 5 years old. Their father is John, a coal miner. I have no idea how old he would be. Here's hoping! Lisa

Darren could not locate him in Wingate - and couldn't find Hart Bushes - but the pages for Wingate are very faint and not easy to read, so could have missed him. Sorry Linda

Hi Linda, Thanks for looking for SPENCE in Redmarshall. I'm afraid I don't have anything else on an address until the 1881 census when they were living at 9 Cleveland Street, Middlesbrough. By then he had married Hannah CLARK and had children....quite a lot of children.. who were Marwood, Robert, Emanuel, Edward, John William, Alfred W, Thomas, jane and George. Paul

Linda

Linda Report 8 Jul 2004 10:50

Darren they are not at Wind Mill Hills in 1861 Linda

Linda

Linda Report 8 Jul 2004 10:39

Paul - re SPENCE - have looked at Redmarshall (1841 & 1851) not very big then, but not there. Do you have any other clues? Linda

Linda

Hello Linda, I'm looking for a John Edward SPENCE born 1840 in Redmarshall, Durham. I don't know how big a settlement it was back then and unfortunately I don't have a better address. If it's too big a search, don't worry. Thanks very much. Paul
