Hi Sue, Would you mind looking for any Wilcock in the Erringden/Todmorden/Cragg Vale areas please. Thanks Tracey

Dear Sue I have William Bracewell, born 21 Jan 1797, baptized 12 March 1797 at the New Market Street Zion Chapel Independent, Skipton. His parents were listed as Miles and Alice. I have seen the original and it does clearly say Miles, though there is another couple called Moses and Alice producing at about the same time and Moses seems a much more likely name. He married someone called Frances (don't know the surname and would love to find the marriage) They had seven children from 1819 to 1837, all baptised in Carleton in Craven (which is just outside Skipton). So although William was a nonconformist, so his baptism wouldn't be in your parish records, that chapel had only just been founded at the time so his immediate predecessors could easily have been C of E. Sorry if it's difficult. But if you come up with either a Miles Bracewell or William and Frances it would be wonderful. Many thanks again, Mike

Hi again Sue I think I've finally worked these boards out, I tried to send you a reply last week but I failed dismally so I sent another E mail (Sorry). Anyway the gist of my reply was that I wanted to give you an enormous thanks for what you found for me. What would we novices do without the help of people like you? As for the certificates, I would be grateful if you could copy both Jacobus Abbott's marriage and Matthew Dawson's as well as Matthew's baptism record. Just let me know how to reimburse you. Another question, do you have any records for Castleford, Pontefract and Wakefield in the late 1700's and early 1800's? Because I have been stuck for ages on my 4xgt grandfathers' births and deaths. One was Thomas Clifford and he married Hannah Middleton on 3/10/1818 at Castleford, another was John Newell and he married Mary Mosby on 14/5/1815 at Pontefract. I am also looking for the birth/baptism of Elizabeth Link who was born abt 1817 at Wakefield, she was my 3xgt grandmother. I would be really grateful for any help with these so that I can move further (you're a gem). Kind regards Viv

Hi Sue I wondered whether your discs covered calverley near Leeds and whether it had marrages for 1817. If so could you please look up a marriage between Joseph Cordingley and Nancy Halliday I think October 1817. I am interested in who the witnesses were. Also if possible could you please look up baptism for Joseph Cordingley around 1795 Shipley or Calverley. Appreciate your help. Thank you Kindest regards Ann
