Hi Sue, I realised having posted my last message that you would not be able to help on that particular question, however I have now done more research and need some pre 1837 if at all possible please? Do you have any information please regarding one Thomas SMITH who was born in Scholes or Kimberworth around 1818/19 who was married to Sarah ADDY who I believe was born in Wentworth around 1823 I am unable to find any records of their births or their marriage so if you could help and even give me some indication as to their parents that would be brilliant......... Many Thanks Regards Chrissie xx

Russell Report 7 Aug 2004 21:13

Sue!! Penistone is a lovely market town about 10 miles south of Dewsbury at the most. It has a wonderful secondary school there (where I spent the majority of last year). It is on the A628 Barnsley to Manchester road (Woodhead pass). The A628 goes: Barnsley, Dodworth, Silkstone, Hoylandswaine, Penistone, Thurlstone, Millhouse Green, middleonoweear, Flouch Inn, dodgy cafe, Dog and Partridge Pub, middleonoweear, Dunford Bridge - then into Derbyshire thent'othersideopennines!! lol Russell
