Dear Susan, Thank you for your offer, I hope you can still help. Would you look up William Barratt, born 1843, his wife, Sarah Harriet Barratt, born 1844 and their children, Florence, born 1866, William S., born 1869 and possibly Rosina E., born 1871? They were living at 5 Albert Terrace, Deptford Road, (now Lower Road) Rotherhithe, in 1875, though it is possible that they were not living there Four years previously. William was originally from Hemel Hempstead, he had brothers called Samuel and John. His father was called John, a glove maker and his mother was called Esther. William was a steam boat stoker or a foreman at the navigation company, Sarah was a machinist, sewing shirts or collars. I hope this is enough information. Please help me if you can, when you have the time. Thank you very much. Claire

Hi if you have time it would be wonderful if you could help! My father's family came from egham and were living in Gravel Pits Egham (sounds wonderful!) My great grandfather was born in 1860 and his name was Alfred caleb turner. His father was caleb turnermarried to Ann Maria murphy. Any further info you could find from the 1871 census would be fantastic. Do you also have access to the 1861? ANN

Hi All Hopefully I've just about caught up now. A lot of them are sadly not covered on the Surrey discs so if anyone has a detailed listing of what's on the London 1871 disc it would be very interesting. Best wishes Sue

Hi Susan If you are still doing lookups, please could I ask you to have a look for: John Willmott, 70, born Chester, Upholsterer Susan Willmott, 61, born Lambeth (wife) They were definately in Croydon in 1864 (children baptised at St John the Baptist, Croydon) and in 1881 (living at 1 Alma Place on census), so they should be somewhere in Croydon in 1871. I know Croydon is probably going to be quite a large area, so if there is too much to look through, don't worry. Thanks very much, Lesley
