Hi, hope you can help. I'm looking for the marriage of William Miller to Maria. 1st child, Edward, was born 1816 in Saint Martin, Chichester, so assume marriage was around that time.
Hoping you can find Maria's maiden name.
Many thanks

Hi Jen

Could you please lookup marriage in Sussex of William Carey in the period 1815 to 1838 ?

Also any marriage of any Baseby in Sussex - there probably won't be many as it's a rare name!
Especially seeking marriage of Benjamin Baseby around 1800 in Lewes, and Francis Baseby around 1815.

I hope you don't get worn out before you get to my request - you deserve a medal!

Happy Christmas

Phil Carey

Hello Jen,

I wonder if you'd mind checking on a Sussex marriage for me, please.
John Martin and Ellen (or Ellenor) Walter/s.
Sould be about 1816??
Their daughter, Phoebe gives her birth as 1817 Hastings and Battle?? Of course Phoebe may not be the eldest, no idea of any siblings.
Thank you,
Libby.

Jen

i only have her for 1851, which states she is known as Smith, due to the father of her children being called Zephanina Thomas Smithers, through the census on different dates they are all known as Tanner, Smithers, Smith and Smithen, which has caused long months of untangling!

I have her placed in 1842 in Petworth Workhouse, first known child born and baptised there, info gained from someone else, so not confirmed. Thomas birth entry does state Petworth as place of birth, but it also appears that Zephanina who already had a wife - Esther Lloyd also had a child with her called Thomas Lloyd Smithers born 1842 but died 1844.
