Hi Claire

I hope you can help me
I am looking for a James Bumfrey (Bumphrey) from Norfolk one was born in the 1820's dont know exactly and another was born around 1842.

From what I have found out is that the second James was born a Cooper and when his mother Mary Ann Cooper married James Bumfrey (dont know when yet.) his name was changed to bumfrey. Now I am looking to see if they had other children and what happen to the 2nd James did he stay a bumfrey or did he go back to Cooper

Many Thanks

Hi Claire,

Thanks, thats great. I thought that george had died by the 51. Looks like I may have things mixed up. Could you please check for a Mary Sturge in the same place born about 1815. In fact any Sturges in the parish would be of a great help.

Many thanks

Julie

Hi Claire

Thanks so much for the info. I don't know if it is the correct info but I hope so as it all looks very exciting. The address on grandads birth certificate in1906 is very blurred and so I can't make it all out but is 27 Can...terfield Street,West Derby, Liverpool. His fathers middle name I think is Augustus. I have spent hours doing searching and got nowhere so you have certainly done better than me. I tried looking up their marriage but to no avail.

By the way, do you have any idea what a mangle keeper actually does? I presume it is something to do with washing mangles.
