Remember Charlie Chaplin born 1889?. He had 11 children the last one born 1962..
Oona ONeill was Charlies 4th wife who was born 1926 making Charlie 37 years older than her. She had 8 children with him.

Just a though - if he was 70 when you were born...was he, erm ''capable'' of being your father? ;-) I mean, up to the job, kinda thing??!

you say you have his death cert, which your mother registered ( I think)

james peter nicholson he died oct 1960 aged 64.
<<where has 70 in 1955 come from?

You have a siser. Younger or older? same father? even less of a likey father if she is younger than you!

I can understand that - it's just that you never know whether Mr. Devlin's family might know something about your mother and yourself that could be of help to you.

Hope you find what you are looking for eventually.

I have to leave the computer now so I wish you well in your search.

Will come back to the thread tomorrow to see if anything else is added.

Have you looked for his army records on Ancestry if you have his army number? This might give his birth date. There are a few John Devlin's born around the Sunderland area at the beginning of the 1900's.
