Hi Portland Rose

According the the marrige cert, Arthur was born in 1883/4 and his father is given as George Edwards, a brewers assistant. Arthurs address is Bootle, Liverpool.

I am thinking that perhaps Rachel met Arthur in Wales (Edwards being a Welsh name and all!) . As her first husband Edgar Dayer was from Monmouthshire. As Edgar Dayer is an unusual name, I managed to track him down on the census to Wales. Even though Edgar married Rachel in Liverpool, perhaps they went to live in Wales with his family?? - Or am I getting carried away?

I have looked for George Edwards with an occupation related to a Brewers assistant but so far without any luck!

thanks again
Lianne

Lianne,

I think you need to wait for the Wales census data to come online.

Alison,

This thread is over 8 years old so I don't think the original poster will still be checking for replies. You could try clicking on Lianne's name and sending a private message. If she still has the same email address that she registered with Genes then she will be notified that she has a message from you - but I wouldn't hold out much hope!
