Any one got any news?

Joy Report 23 Jan 2012 15:58

I have just looked again for the 1911 image that I bought with the 30 credits given by genes reunited, and I can see the image again with the infirmity column unblocked.

I would write again if I were you.

Kathleen Report 23 Jan 2012 21:53

Still blanked out today 23rd Jan!

BradM Report 24 Jan 2012 17:14

I looked up a relative that I have not previously looked up before and the column was un blocked! It must be an error with images you have previously viewed?

Same here BM, when i look up ones that i have not looked up before they are uncovered, it just seems to be all the ones that i looked up ages ago! just wish they would get it sorted :-(

Alison it is probably your browser that is not displaying the new image because it has the old one in its cache. Try clearing your cache and cookies.

BradM

BradM Report 25 Jan 2012 07:18

That doesn't work :-(

Kay????

Kay???? Report 25 Jan 2012 09:55

instead of looking at past images,,,,do a new search on the names and see if that shows full display.

*Alison* Report 25 Jan 2012 10:10

cleared the cookies 3 times and still doesn't work.

i don't have the census images saved to my tree, so i have been doing a new search, but it's still covered.

Ditto. New images yes, old images no.

If anyone is desperate to see an image could we look up each others pages and check for entries?J

*Alison* Report 25 Jan 2012 20:53

Thats a good idea Jillian!

If anybody wants me to look anything up and send them the images, just let me know, but it won't be till the morning now, so just leave details :-D

I had a message back from GR to say there is a technical query and it should be sorted from tomorrow. I was given 10 credits back for a transcribed image I had viewed but not the 30 credits for the original image - I have emailed GR again as I think I should have had the 30 credits refunded as the infirmity column was still blanked out. Now I will have to use more credits to view it again when the query is sorted - but how will I know if it is sorted until I use credits to view!!!!!

Unbelievable and poor customer relations.

Find my past has
http://www.findmypast.co.uk/search/census/1911/person
"Special offer: view the 1911 census at vastly reduced prices! Until 31 January 2012, you can view a 1911 census original image for 10 credits (previously 30) and a transcript for 5 credits (previously 10)." and this is the case in the original 1911 census site, too; so that should be the charge surely in genes reunited.

And old and new images should reveal the infirmity column.

BradM

BradM Report 26 Jan 2012 07:22

We dont pay for half a service do we? GR earn loads of money per year and along with it's sister companies they should have enough money to fix this problem within a few days not a few weeks.

Joy

Joy Report 26 Jan 2012 08:59

I hope that you will write again: about the service and about being wrongly charged.

Kathleen

Kathleen Report 26 Jan 2012 13:05

Just looked at my account and GR have refunded the 30 credits I used to view the image with no infirmity details - so I am glad I contacted them and pleased that they responded favourably.

Joy

Joy Report 26 Jan 2012 13:09

I am pleased, Kathleen, that you received that refund.

When you view again - "Until 31 January 2012, you can view a 1911 census original image for 10 credits (previously 30) and a transcript for 5 credits (previously 10)." :-)

ok.....i have been patient for weeks now, and i didn't want to contact GR as from other peoples reply's they kept saying it was going to be fixed.
But i have now contacted them, and will keep doing so until it's sorted! will let you know if i get a reply.
My subscription here is up in March, but at the moment i won't be renewing!! :-(
