First suggestion.........slow down, take a deep breath

No-one on GR can help except by providing info....we can't find out why someone was in a particular grave

To find out about Hannah's parents, you will have to purchase her birth cert.......you were given the necessary details by Patchem.

And having asked for help, you really must take time to read and understand the replies, or there's no point in our finding info for you.

I gave you what MAY have been Hugh's birth in 1918 ..........do you understand the records?

It shows that his mother's maiden name was TWEEDIE

There isn't a marriage for Hindley to Tweedie, but there is a marriage for George Hindley to Margaret Taylor, and a prior marriage for Margaret Tweedie to Taylor, with whom she had at least one child, whose birth I posted for you

You have to follow info through systematically................

And your 'favourites' are stored in the section marked 'favourites' in your internet toolbar...that's where you keep the web addresses of all the sites you wish to use regularly

Don't start getting divorce into your head........for one thing, in those days, it didn't happen except for the rich, and for another, Elizabeth died in 1916

kaylee Report 27 Jan 2012 17:59

Ok so John was to a prior marrage to Robert Taylor and his mum was maragret Tweedie then taylor by marriage. Who went on to marry my GGgrandad George Hindley and Margaret tweedie taylor had Hugh and John could have changed his from tweedie taylor to hindley.

That right?

Flick

Flick Report 27 Jan 2012 22:17

Not necessarily..........PLEASE do the research on freebmd for Hugh's siblings

You can do so much to help yourself if you take it one step at a time.

Get it all down on paper..............it might make more sense to you that way

It is also vital that you realise that none of the info given has been proved to be concerning your relations........only by purchasing certs will you get proof.

Flick Report 27 Jan 2012 22:22

Do you realise that two other GR members have you in their trees?

Have you given them permission to add your details to their trees?

You mention a william HARRIS as a whitness could he maybe have something to do with the child in the grave her name being HARRIS to.

I have Richard down as being the father of Mary, John, Susanna, Elizabeth, an Richard earliest being 1860's 1869.

How Old is Mary Ann then. She is down as being buried in the grave. Not Catherine torrintine like it says on the deed.

Nothing seems to make any sense!!!!

You asked:-

"How Old is Mary Ann then. She is down as being buried in the grave. Not Catherine torrintine like it says on the deed"

According to the 1891 Census, Mary Ann was born ca 1837, and was 54 on that census.

How did you find out that it was Mary Ann Torrentine in the grave not Catherine???

sylvia

kaylee

kaylee Report 28 Jan 2012 04:46

We was told by the man in the record department that Catherine Torrentine died 1899 buired along with Hannah Doris Harris b1906 died 1906 and Elizabeth Jane Hindley who was Millar

But someone posted previous that it was a Mary Ann Torrentine in th grave died 1899.

I would of know a Mary Ann But it makes sence that Elizabeth Jane Hindley nee Millar would be buried with her mum which would be Mary Ann
