I'm tracing back some ancestors from the line of Wilfred Morgan born 1903 to 1972 in Walsall. I've just got his marriage certificate back showing his father to be Alfred Morgan (both worked as 'Tube Workers' in a foundry)
'Simples' now I just find them both in the 1911 census -except they appear to be hiding!

Did he have siblings born after 1911 we may be able to backtrack then with mmn

Wungle Report 29 Jan 2013 16:27

Unfortunately I've got no siblings -there isn't even a 'Morgan' down as a witness to the marriage so no clues there either.

ErikaH Report 29 Jan 2013 17:28

Interesting.......did the first Wilfred die?

Or was Wilfred 1903 actually their grandson?

Got it -just looked at the 1911 census and the one with Abraham as Head is 2 doors from where his wife lived before they married -too much of a coincidence.

I'll send off for the birth cert as well to make sure.

Big thanks to eveyrone.

Does that mean 2 different families OR first wife Jane died, he re-married, and thus we have an explanation for the 2 Williams??????

There seem to be TWO Abraham Morgan's born in Staffordshire around 1865 ....... one in Willenhall, and one in Wolverhampton.

One is married to Elizabeth, and is on loads of trees on ancestry.

Most people seem to have accepted the 1891 Census for an Abraham b. in Willenhall as true for Abraham born in Wolverhampton ........... but the Willenhall Abraham is a Lock Maker

Wolverhampton Abraham was an Ironworks Labourer.

Much care is needed!!!!
