You're quite right, Joan. We had a subscription a few years ago and were warned at the beginning that if we were caught doing lookups for others our subscription would be terminated! :-(

It's intended to prevent professional genealogists from getting free lookups, and I think you'd probably get away with the occasional one, but we never tried it.

Colette, why not give specific details of what you're trying to find?

There are numerous other sites that have information that The Genealogist claims to have.

If you have a person who was mentioned in despatches there are a number of other ways to find that information.

Hi Chris yes it is....... it's been a long slog I am now admin on the 1st Warwick's re-enactment facebook site and after seven long years I have just found a photo of him and was very emotional you can imagine...I know he was mentioned in Despatches but just wondered what the Genealogist had..
