Golly everybody.
You are amazing and thanks very much.
I actually live in Auckland NZ and had found the letter in a second hand book I bought. However, when I looked Pauline up I had discounted her as there were a few with the same name in the UK and I had believed her to be English. Perhaps she went to England to especially check with the College of Arms.
However, I think you have all clarified it now and I will follow up on the NZ info you have given me. Hopefully a family member will want the letter back.
