Once upon a time there were three sisters, Susan, Mary and Francis, one evening Susan and Mary went to the pub and got chatting to a handsome chap, who just happenned to mention, good heavens ladies, what big feet you have, 'You think ours are big !!!!' you should see the size of our Fanny's.

Nudge for Chris' joke...ha ha ha. I knew a boy born surname Smellie (truly)..poor boy changed his name to Smillie and who can blame him. Hopefully he never married a Fanny....... Chris

Chrispynoodle Report 14 Apr 2006 16:57

Marion...no offence, but I think it's a scots name. I work in an office where we have hundreds of student files and we often have a laugh with names.. A good game is putting a first name or initial that matches a surname. Eg we have a Mr Cumber, so his first name has got to be Quentin (Qcumber!!!) or Neil NCumber!!! and Mr Drage whose first names are Robert Orville Adam (ROADrage!!!) Oh what fun!!!

Does anybody rememember the TV chef Fanny Craddock and her husband Johnny? So the story goes, Johnny lurched onto the screen and drunkenly raised his wine glass, saying 'Goodnight viewers.... and here's hoping all your doughnuts turn out like Fanny's!'
