Hi Helen, Thank you for the information but I think it would make my Beriah too young to be this one. I'll keep the info though just in case my date of birth for William turns out to be wrong! Thanks again Jayne x

I've done lots of research on ancestors from Dawley area. As soon as I saw the name Baugh in the title of your thread I guessed there could be a Dawley connection. My tip is, go with the IGI Parish Records for the area. I've found them really good and accurate when checked to the originals. A Jane Baugh c1765 is my 5G Gran so you never know, we may be related!

Thank you Helen. Can you tell me how I do that? Sorry I told you I wasn't very good at this! I'll let you know if I find a connection. Jayne x

Just been on Family Search and they have a William Baugh born 3rd March 1860, Dark Lane, Dawley, Shropshire - parents Beriah and Sarah. I need his birth certificate badly! Jayne x

There's a slight problem when you look at the 1851 and search on Beriah Baugh. Only 3 come up but........ Beriah Baugh abt 1827 Dawley, Shropshire, England Son-in-law Dawley Shropshire Beriah Baugh abt 1831 Dawley, Shropshire, England Son Dawley Shropshire Beriah Baugh abt 1831 Dawley, Shropshire, England Son Dawley Shropshire Give or take a year or two (and they nearly always did) any of these could be you ancestor!

And the other thing is the spelling - sometimes its Beriah and others Briah! Why did I ever start this??? Jayne x

Jayn I just looked at 1837 again and I think thats the one that I sent you!..they hardly ever reg. birth in the same month. Theres no William on the one before...I looked.

OK I'm going to go for it. If it is the same one it means the info that Nell found for me is the wrong family as the parents are listed as Beriah and Sarah. That will be such a shame as it all looked so promising! Thank you all so very much for your help. It really is greatly appreciated. Jayne x
