Have you any idea what searches were done by Central library? Did you know that there are 50-60 different sets of baptism records for catholic churches in liverpool alone, never mind other faiths.? Lets have a look at some addresses. Can you list briefly the facts that you do know in chronological order.

People dont just disappear-there is a reason for everything-either she wasnt born with that name or perhaps was born in another country. On the birth cert what actual facts or such are stated? This problem needs stripping to the bones. Im not convinced liverpool library did a thorough enough search knowing the complexities of their records.

dear alta. ive searched for ella in scotland as well as ireland, the only real facts on my grandfathers birth certificate are as follows - mothers name ELLA MACDONALD.fathers name BLANK childs name and date of birthRONALD MACDONALD 21FEB 1915,place of birth 17BEACONSFIELD ST TOXTETH PARK,mothers occupation MAID/DOMESTIC ,no age for mother was given. it would really help if i knew her real age, family legend says that she was only 16 thats why she had my grandfather adopted, but i think she was older but where did she go after he was adopted no trace can be found.. suex

Conclusion: Family legends = get distorted over the years-unreliable. Age=keep an open mind Name =keep an open mind in my not very humble opinion,we have only one way to go forward with this at this stage. >>address given>>check all the nearest possible churches for a baptism>>this might shed light on her name.maps on the walls for different denominations will help narrow the field down.It is very possible that ronald was baptised twice. >>adoption was not legal in that year-made legal in 1927. >>ive seen adopted children have their baptism record updated in some records in liverpool parish registers, therefore worth looking for the possibility of an ammended entry . other considerations>> gores street index for background info on that address .Central has them for all years going up to 1970's.
