Hi Donna, Already have that info, many thanks anyway, its 1841 and 1851 that are driving me crazy !! Thomas Pym b1787 Lockington is the father of the Phillip b1833 Kegworth. Thomas was in Nottingham for 1851, still married but without son Phillip (1833) or wife, he was lodging with other FWK's at Knights Place. Because Thomas married while seving in Malta it has been impossible to find out her name as all children were born pre 1837. Any ideas on that one?? Mike has come up with some interesting burials in Kegworth, but they belong to Phillips brother John ( c James) who was born in Malta 1815 and lived out his life in Kegworth. Regards, Ralph

Mike. The Leicester Lad.(GC) Report 4 Oct 2005 13:06

Greeting's & Welcome Ralph..... I've trawled through all those Leicestershire villages In both the 1841. & 1851. Censuses ..... which are mentioned from that 1861. Census returns. Although I found PYMM / PYM / PIM Families within those villages Philip didn't appear or similar family Christian names I'm sorry to say ... I can only think that like yourself Philip was abroad with his Father 1841 / 1851. Although I can see only the Crimean war 1854 ~ 56. Plus the unrest in France but that was a lot earlier…. ( Napoleonic Wars ) Interesting Burial found ( Thomas’s Mother ? ) :- LOCKINGTON & HEMINGTON PIMM MARGARET 03 JUL 1831 76 ABODE KEGWORTH Pym Burials found for Kegworth :- PYM JOSEPH 19 JAN 1840 INF PYM JOHN 29 OCT 1840 INF PYM WILLIAM 18 APR 1887 35 MIKE.

Hi Bev, I've lost my Gt Grandfather PHILLIP PYM(M) born KEGWORTH in 1833, I've checked Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire without success. His Father THOMAS PYM was in Nottingham for the 1851 census still married but not living with wife (name unknown as possibly married in MALTA when Thomas serving in army) Hoping to find PHILLIP with his mother. Hi Donna Has anybody got back to you? If not, I think you will have to find the right fiche out for whichever church you need and then when you've found the right page go and buy a token to print the copy off, I've never done this myself at Wigston, it always seems a bit long winded for me so I just write everything down. The staff will help you. Good Luck Tracey

Tracey Report 2 Oct 2005 22:46

Hi Elaine I have so many Willliam Wrights in my tree!! but as yet I haven't got a Sarah Kirkman. My Wrights came to Leicester form Norfolk about 1890's so Its probably not the same family. If you ever come across an Alice Mary Wrights marriage after 1901 I'd really appreciate the details please and please let me know anybody you want me to look out for. Regards Tracey

Oh thank goodness....I was looking for this thread earlier and couldn't find it. I thought i was going mad! Anyway, Mike i wonder if you could help me. I have a Parr family that is missing ... John Parr born c1827 in Notts to John (c1807) and Mary A (1813). John Snr was born in Nottingham and Mary born Leicester. John and Mary went on to have Emma born c1832 in Leicester, Leicestershire. Do you have any idea where i can find out her birth info and also if parents had any other kids around the same time. Both John Parr snr and jnr were Tailors. Thanks , Karen

Bev, You are a star - how did you do it?? Reckon that could well be him - thanks so much!! Maggie (who is now going crazy trying to find his son John Francis O Butler (born Birmingham, 1873) in 1901!! Think I have found his marriage in Wandsworth in 1904, and in 1891 he is a Merchant's Clerk - so who knows what he might be doing in 1901!!).
