Here's one for you tomorrow, Jess, should you be so inclined. Can you find my Fanny Goodwin on the 1861 census? In 1871 she is married to Samuel Smith and living in Meopham, Kent. Her birth is about 1844 in Northfleet, Kent and she appears to have lived the rest of her life in Kent. Obviously, Fanny may be a pet name which helps! Thanks, Sharon

A couple of bones for tomorrow Jess if you're not suffering from a hangover! 1861census for a John William Page and his wife Elizabeth Ann, Elizabeth was born in Brighton in 1832. They are probably in the Brighton area. And if you've got time I don't suppose you could look up again on the 1861 census any Campbell's born in Newhaven, Sussex, I don't expect there will be many of them. Richard would be age 68 if he was alive then and living in Brighton, but I've never been able to trace his younger brothers. Many thanks Josie

Hi Jess Can ya do me a wee favour? Got a particularly awkward gggrandmother in that she can't decide when and where she was born. I think we're talking c1805 but in 1851 she says she was born in Saddleworth, Lancashire, in 1861 she claims it was Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire and in 1881 she says Halifax, Yorkshire. I'm interested in whether 1871 gives a different place again. Her name is Emma Herod/Herrod and will be living in Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire. Husband is James born 1813 in Dukinfield, Lancashire. Thanks Lou

Hi Jess, Here is a nice bone for you.... I have GG Grandparents and family on the '61 census, but his place of birth says Atherton, Staffordshire ? (As far as I know Atherton is in Lancashire) '61 info is :- Address, Dairy Place Woolwich. Edward Parker, age 32 (looks like 38) Atherton Staffs. Occupation, Serj Artillery. Eleanor Parker, age 29, Poplar, Middlesex. Alfred Thos, son age 4, Devonport. Sarah Jane, age 4 months, Woolwich. On the '71 I have Alfred already in the Artillery (aged 14) and I also have Sarah Jane on the '81 (aged 20), but I can't find parents and Sara Jane on the '71, or the parents on '81 or '91. Being Artillery they moved around a lot, which doesn't help at all. If you could turn anything up on them, especially Edwards birthplace, I'd be very grateful, as they are driving me batty ! Many thanks Jess, Kaye.

Hi Jess, Can you find me ANYTHING official about Thomas GOULD, twin s/o Nicholas GOULD and Mary STILLMAN, b.1 Sep 1780 Trowbridge, chr. 10 Aug 1783 West Stafford with his younger brother Hubert, mar. 24 Nov 1846 Trinity Church Lambeth to Ann LONGHURST, d.16 Jun 1856, bur.All Souls Cemetery Kensall Green. Issue -Edward Wentwoth GOULD b.27 Nov 1846 Blackfriars,Surrey; Frederick Wentworth GOULD b.17 Dec 1848 St John's Wood ,Middlesex. This all looks very good in detail -came to me from a very old pedigree -BUT - I can't find any confirmation about Thomas in any of the usual online places, other than his christening.Looks like he was in London during 1841/1851, but I have no address. Can't find the marriage or the death, let alone the burial site I have found wife Ann and sons in subsequent censuses, but Thomas seems to have kept his tracks well covered. He was the eldest son of a gentleman (Nicholas GOULD of Frome Billet, Dorset) and I think he 'went to the bad', making an 'unsuitable' marriage. If you can unearth anything, I will be much obliged. Thankyou for your kind offer, Beverley from Perth West.Oz

MICHAEL AND HIS ELUSIVE ROBSON ENTRY 1871 >>>>>>>>>.ive checked various scenarios, with the son and wife, looked at about 12 census entries............ best scenario I can can come up with is that he is with his family along with young son,but elizabeth not there. Along with this Ive noticed an Elizabeth lodging in a pub called the black horse inn. there isnt one entry that leaps out at me,as a definite.

Hi Jess, Don't worry about 'not doing too well', I am cursed with Royal Artillery, at the moment I have five different families with generations of them and have found them all over the world, so Edward could be ANYWHERE ! The Hatherton sounds good, so I'm off to do some searching. Many thanks Jess, I really appreciate it. Kaye.
