Roger And there was I thinking I had gone posh marriyng into the the Surrey County Set and had 'lost' me roots....But I understood very word you 'said' lol :) Best pie, mash and eels...Wandsworth Road. My brother in law took me to several pie and mash shops across the river but they never matched up to Wandsworth Road. Not only for the pie and mash but also for the atmosphere. Wandsworth Rd had bin men marching through the shop and the eating area, bins on shoulders :))) ....North of the river seemed posh after that!!! Chris

Was my grandad a cockney? He always told us he was and also that he was from Camden Town. Being from Yorkshire not sure if that is anywhere near!! lol. I have traced my family and they were all from Somers Town, St Pancras. Is that the same district as Camden? or no where near?? I wish he was still here to ask:)

Hi 'I am also nudging this thread. I aint a Lunduner meself but some o' me ancestors came from Shoreditch, Bethnal Green and Spitalfields. I do 'ope that these mentioned places fall within the sound of Bow Bells, so I can claim to 'ave true Cockney genes in me, you know want I mean guv'nor. That is that sorted aahht'. Ben
