Saffron Walden (Essex) Cemetery records can now be accessed on-line at the Uttlesford District Council website at www(.)uttlesford(.)gov(.)uk Go to "what can I do on-line on this site?" - then to "search the cemetery records". The service is free of charge and also includes a map of plot numbers.

If you are looking for Portsmouth cemeteries the address is www(.)Portsmouth.gov.uk There is not a list on here but if you write to Kingston cemetery (for example) with known details, date of death, name, age, place etc, as much as possible they will e mail you the info. Ann Glos

Not a huge amount for what I want but found three rellies so not bad. www.interment.net features american, australian, NZ, canadian, some European countries as well as the UK. Not complete lists, entered by various researchers so you probably only get the names they were looking for and perhaps a few graves in the vicinity but worth having a look. One to keep an eye on as more records are entered. Beth :)

I was just trying out links to see if I could spot anything encouraging for Jacqueline, the HURTLEY researcher, when I found this link: edrh(.)rhpl(.)richmondhill(.)on(.)ca/cemeteries/ It's a North America link with cemetery photos, searchable by name. You don't need www at the front. cheers Christine

Copied my Beds/Bucks message over: Please note that the curators of Bushey Museum (http://www(.)busheymuseum(.)org/) are in the process of logging all the Memorial Inscriptions in Bushey Parish Church graveyard. (BUSHEY is in SW HERTS, between Watford and Stanmore.) They don't intend to put the detail onto the web - it is too massive a project (and, I suspect, they believe in no-pain-no-gain) - but they do already have a card index for a great deal of the churchyard. There is a possibility that they'll put the MI index onto the web, once they've got all the info together so that you'll know whether there's a likelihood of finding what you're after. If anyone has a particular belief that a Bushey MI will solve their current research problem, and they can't make it here themselves to visit the (excellent) Museum or the area, then I could try to do some looking-up but it won't necessarily be instant because of other commitments. UKBMD includes a links to MI/cemetery websites and have picked up this link I found for a couple of places in South Cornwall: http://www*gorran-haven*com/history*htm It has parish records including sets of MI records. Pumphrey Report 24 May 2004 19:34

I'm currently working on a project just to help people out (not proper transcribing)! I have covered about 1/2 of St. John's Churchyard in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent and have recently started on Hartshill Cemetery, Stoke-on-Trent (and i do mean JUST started). I have begun adding it to a website but not being a whizz with the old PC I haven't yet figured out how to get it "out there". In the meantime, If anyone thinks they may have a rellie in the above two cemeteries, let me know and I'll tell you if I find them. P.S. Email me direct as I may forget to check the thread. Pam
