I have had uk for 4 years and Ive had the 3 day worldwide trial offer twice before but I got in no problem. Dont take it for gospel if you get padlocks or a message saying you cant get it just keep going, enter John Smith born 1845 USA and search and see if you get entry.

Is this trial for 3 days only from today or does ot start for 3 days when you log on to it. In other words can I do it tomorrow and still get 3 days.
Thanks Marie

Heather Report 25 Oct 2007 23:22

3days from when you log in BUT I dont know if there is a close off date. Youll have to stay up all night - LOL>

Steph, do you already have UK ancestry? If not, then get searching for all the census and bmd plus WW1 records and Pallots and parish records to name but a few!

Hi

I'm having no problem getting in - but when trying to view the actual record, i.e. Census, then it's telling me that I have to become a member.

I do hope Jim that this is the free 3 day trial you have set up, if it is a paid for account Ancestry will remove it and you will lose your subscription and they may even take legal action against you.

Sorry to possibly rain on any parade.

LOL, Glad you are enjoying it - think about a sub after you finish as I dont know what Id do without mine.

What I cant make out is why people are still asking for census look ups when they could be looking themselves 24 hours a day!.

Do check out all the sources - go through the list of sources available, not just the obvious census and bmd.

All is well for me...

This is the 2nd time I've been able to have a 3 day free access to ancestry now.

Thank you for the link, it all comes in useful, especially coming up to xmas, the amount of money this saves.

Thank you for the link. Hope all has as much luck as getting access to it 1st time.

I spent about 10 hours yesterday contacting most of the people who have incorrect information. Some of them have thanked me for pointing out the anomaly of a woman having children 150 yrs or so before her own father was born. Another person told me to educate myself in the whole process of genealogy research! And another said there were 9 other people with the info on OneWorldTree so it must be right! I did reply that 9 wrongs dont make a right.
I have been fuming over the stupidity of some people, but I welcomed the opportunity to at least tell them they had it wrong. I just hope those who do nothing will enjoy their spurious trees.
