((((( : King Cole : ))))) Report 5 Jun 2008 15:34

Hi everyone
I haven't been on here for some time now and enjoyed reading through the new thread (took some time, though!!)
Had a crash in my car on April 1st - Karma or what???
Nobody was hurt, thank goodness, but my car was a write-off - so have had to buy a new one. The one that I had was a big one, left to me by my late husband - far too expensive to run. So I've taken the opportunity to buy a smaller car - a little Micra actually - and I love her.
Have also had some problems with my son and his wife. Well actually, they are the ones having problems and my son has KIND OF come home to live. Although he spends an awful lot of time round there - often all night. He has 3 little girls, who obviously are being affected by what is going on, so things are not all hunky dory this end.
Nothing much for me to do really, 'cept be there to support the pair of them. They've been together 20 years and I just cannot imagine them parting company for good.
Oh dear - just got my daughter settled (remember the wedding in Vienna in February?). Now the number one son is playing up!
Will life ever run smoothly?
Love to everyone
Must go and make some cards now
Sue

Evening all.
Sue, sorry to hear about the car crash, thank goodness no one was injured and as you say a good excuse to get a smaller car. Hope your son manages to sort things out, as you say very unsettling for the children.

Busy trying to catch up on my card making have got so far behind, the cough I could have managed with but my eyes were just too blurred to make anything, still will need to get stuck in tomorrow as have quite a few birthdays coming up.

Have just ordered some new embossing plates for my cuttlebug from the USA hope they arrive safely, from a company I have not used before.

Just noticed that it is a TSV on QVC tonight, and it is K & Co for anyone interested.

Jo
Sorry to read about your cough etc. I've heard of so many people having that at the moment - must be a virus doing the rounds. Hope I don't get it!
Watched the TSV and looked very good value for money. Unfortunately, my little craft room is over-flowing, so I've made a resolution not to buy anything more unless I absolutely NEED it. Very difficult because there is so much beautiful stuff on the market these days. Did you see the set of 18 boxes? I was very tempted to get them. Thought they would look lovely on the dinner table - but I resisted!! How good am I?
Some good craft programmes on QVC today, so shall be taping them and watching them at my leisure.
Happy crafting everybody.
Sue

Happy Birthday Maureen and Anne, hope you both have had a lovely day with lots of cards and pressies!!

Hope everyone is OK, still have my cough, just will not go, still it is not as bad as it was, not chesty now just irritating!!

Sylvia, hope to see you when you come to the UK will be driving up north on 24th June, will pm you.

Well I am still miles behind on my card and ATC making this month, seems I just cannot catch up, like really to be about a month in advance normally, but at the moment seem to be making them as they are needed. Still have just finished 2 house warming cards and 4 thank you cards for my daughter, at least they are now out of the way, if a little late!! Perhaps I should be making cards instead of being on here!! Have been at daughters for the last couple of days as she is not well. Have done 5 hours of ironing today for her in this heat, think I nearly melted, still all done now.

HI, everyone,

I had a nice lazy day yesterday, and spent a lot of time opening my cards, and having a good look at them. One of the nice things about these cards, is that you can look at them several times and really enjoy them.

It was also my nephew's second aniversary, so I made a snall concentina card, and printed off 5 photos at pocket book size - when they were first courting, wedding, going-away, birth of Anna six months ago, and one taken of the three of them last month. I was really pleased with it, and so were they.

Jojo, sorry about your cough, I hope it improves soon.

Love to all

Anne

Morning all, its a dull windy day here today. Hooray, the workmen have left at last! The plumbers did the last job yesterday and now we have to get on with the decorating. before the carpet fitters come. The new bedrooms and bathroom look great, the grandchildren are very pleased with their new rooms. My grandaughter is nearly 18 so she is going for sophistication while my grandson, 13, is still into footie, Arsenal, so he has gone for red and white and black. Looks better than it sounds.

Glad to see you decided to stay, Heather.

JoJo, can you eat honey? I know some people just dont like it but if you can take a spoonful now and agian it might help with your cough. The set honey not the runny one. Hope you will be feeling better soon.

Have a good day

Evening. Hope you are all well. Have spent the day at the hospital with my sister today, she was there having her pre-op assessment for major spine surgery next month.
Weather here has been awful this morning but sunny and overcast this afternoon. Tonight it is very dark and cold looks like a storm on its way.
Off to do some card making now, still trying to catch up. Have finished my ATC's, keeping asking myself why they take me so long to make, obviously my fingers are not nimble enough!!

Sue, I ended up missing most of the programmes and managed to resist. I did watch a craft outlet the other night on QVC and there was some lovely embroidery templates on, nearly bought them but luckily they sold out before I rang!!

Anne glad to hear you had lots of lovely cards and sounds like you had a lovely day. The concertina card you made sounds fantastic, never tried one myself.

Issy your extension sounds lovely the grandkids will love it I'm sure.

Hello i just thought i would let you know that i have just been and had coffee with Sylvia and Johan.
They had an awful journey over here apparently there was a bad accident near Brussels which delayed them and they didn't get to Ashford until just before 10 last night.

She says that she is looking forward to meeting some of you.

Morning ladies, hope you are all well.

Weather here at the moment is lovely and sunny if a little cold, rain forecast for later though.

Post on FTF from Maureen to say she has cut her holiday short as her daughter is critically ill, I am sure we all wish her a speedy recovery and send Maureen lots of love at this difficult time. Keeping them all in my thoughts and prayers.

Good morning to you all and a big hug to all that need one xx
Had a good but hectic time back in the UK and Isle of Man, the christening was on the 8th and it was a lovely sunny day.
Rémi was very good, despite no one knowing his first tooth was coming through to appear the next day. We also caught up with the rest of our family so had lots to catch up on.
Did manage to buy a few crafty bits and also help M & S profits :))) the car came back like normal --loaded.
We have people in the gite that have been twice before,so it means a lot of evenings spent having the odd bottle of wine, we are getting in need of a total rest !!
We have the new kitchen being done in September so need to start moving things out as all the new things like the range, chiller and other bits start arriving next week and we need to store it all.Looks like its going to be a couple of months of mess as John wants to plaster part of one wall as none of ours our straight due to the age of the house and the room was used for bread and butter / cheese making.
Was sorry that we could catch up with Sylvia but we must of past each other on route.

xx Jill

Afternoon everyone well at least the awful winds of the last few days have quietened down and it is overcast - but at least it is not raining. Hope the rain holds off this weekend as I have the grandchildren staying. So will be busy.

Jill sounds like you have a very busy time ahead, still I am sure the odd bottle of wine will help you through!!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
