McAnne's Gahan-Crazy Report 3 Jun 2008 11:26

D - they not too long - they too flappy lol

I can't go to A&E with 'hurty wrists' lol - you need blood pouring or sticky out bones for that lark - i'd just look silly with nothing wrong lol

Erm I repeat
Get your wrists checked if you have a scaphoid fracture which can happen with that kind of fall they can be really tricky to heal and treat especially if they are treated as sprains for a long time.

\McAnne

now go get them checked one of the supervisors at tiddlers nursery fell up the stairs and broke a bone, she took a while to go and get it checked as well.

Have you damaged the stairs cos you know what they are like they'll be suing you.

I did a similar thing a few weeks back when i slipped on a wet floor and jarred my wrist and arm. It didn't hurt straight away, the next day day it throbbed but a few days later it swelled up so i went to casualty and after four hours waiting had x rays etc. The nurses said i hadn't broken anything but had severly inflammed tendons, I had a splint to wear for a week, even now it still nags if id do too much. So go and get it checked out, better to be safe than sorry. All the best.

Don't you have any nice young men who do first aid Anita?

Failing that, please get yourself checked over. I slipped and hurt my shoulder over a year ago and still suffering.

UPDATE!

Hmmmm

left work at 2.30 under further advice from my surgery nurse ..

I got home about 15 mins ago .................

X-ray inconclusive - so i now have a very cumbersome 'below elbow' cast as a precautionary measure :O(

Operational difficulties now ensue for the next 10 days minimum - and could not have come at a worse time ! ! ! !

So glad you decided to be sensible. My OH damaged his wrists a few years ago and was off work for weeks. You must remember you are not made of Teflon and can break easily. Jean

Dawnieher3headaches

Dawnieher3headaches Report 3 Jun 2008 19:48

McAnne no no no dear there were no witnesses so it wasnt your trousers lol

Fell down the stairs at work once in nice white high heeled boots (yes it was the 80s) was a live in job and boy were the bosses nice to me because they thought I would sue them and they certainly fixed the stairs very quickly, was thrown in the back of my mini clubman estate by two men and Steve drove me to the hospital luckily not broken just very badly sprained.

Do you want my hubby to drawn on it for you he drew Dumbo on Lissys for her.

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 11 Jun 2008 20:25

Oh poor you Anne, my son had to have his wrist and hand plastered years ago cos the hospital can never be sure of the scaphoid whether it is cracked or not so they plaster to cover them selves legally lol. He did the first one on his right wrist riding or rather, falling off, his skateboard and six weeks after the plaster came off, he did the same thing to the other wrist playing basket ball so a further cast on that arm.
You be careful, hope you will still be able to drive here on the 21st

Hope it goes ok McAnne.

Just remembered, I think it was the scaphoid that my mum broke a couple of years ago. She had it in plaster for 2 weeks, then went back to the hospital, to be told that it wasn't broken.

Hope you're as lucky as she was.
