How can I read an FTW file

A distant family contact has sent me their family tree in a 3MB FTW file. I believe this is a Family Tree Maker format. Unfortunately I don't have Family Tree Maker software. Is there any other way of accessing the information in this file? I don't really want to go back and annoy my contact by saying the information they were good enough to send is not useful to me in this format. Any advice appreciated.

You're right, it needs to be a gedcom file.

Do you have a free ancestry account? I'm sure I've read on their site that you can download Family Tree Maker files up to 75mb. You may want to check it out. However, I would make sure that no one else can read it by keeping it private.

Thanks very much, Secret Red Squirrel. That did the trick very nicely.
