Hi Susan, and Dorothy and all, girls (and boys) after my own heart, I love all that pomp and ceremony, used to get my son to watch all that kind of thing with me when he was little, no wonder he isn't bothered now lol |

Extremely proud to be British and when I was accused at my last workplace of being racist because of the Union Flag tattooed on my arm, I best not repeat what I said.. |

I can't for the life of me remember what the programme was, but I remember the gun-carriage races and diplays by many armed forces regiments in an arena that was televised annually.............then stopped for some reason. |

It's always poignant for me as, when I about 10 or 11, Dad took me to one of the rehearsals. He used to get tickets as he was connected with the Coldstream Guards. He loved it all and explained everything to me, every time I watch it I get a lump in my throat - going to those rehearsals is one of my best memories. |

Well it was a very good parade today, didn't see any mistakes at all. I usually sit here watching and moaning about the standard of the drill, but there was nothing I could moan about today. |

Agree with you there Brummie Helen. Let us remember all those risking their lives each day and those who have lost theirs in action. |
