Teddys Girl Report 26 Jun 2008 11:58

Me and the OH gave up 40 years ago, we both had a bad bout of Asian Flu, and coughed so much, decided no more smoking.

The money we saved paid for the central heating to be put in our house.

We just remembered that horrible cough, and did not want them anymore.

Mrs Bucket,
You can't be a SLAVE to NOBODY let alone a piece
of paper stuffed with wead !!
You and Pablo are doing alright one day at a time.

I practically ate my ciggies cause I loved them that much .
But I feel great now that was 16 yrs ago !
Keep it up

Glad to hear you've give up.

Thats the hardest bit, choosing to give up, the rest is easy from here. Just keep telling yourself you dont want one.

I gave up over 8 years ago and knew I had succeeded after 4 days. I had tried to give up before but was never really committed to do it so always failed.

The last time, I set a date, never had any left in the house and just stopped. Cold Turkey all the way!!

OH smoked and I used to look longingly at the ashtray fighting off my temptation. After 4 days the ashtray smelled distgusting and so did OH!!

After 6 months I bought a car. The money I saved paid for the payments easily with money to spare and I dont cough in the mornings anymore.

Keep going- and good Luck

Dont punish yourself Papblo.

If it gets really bad, imagin having a puff....talk your way through that puff.....smell it!.....feel your chest heaving!....remind yourself how much money this costs!.....remember how adictive this weed is!

WE rule...NOT that flippin weed!

Keep with it Pablo...i feel this is my biggest last ditch effort....please stay with me? I find doing it with another addict helps......dont let me/you down.....

Pablo

Go for it. I have tried the patches and everything else, including attending no smoking classes.

In February this year i decided the only way was "COLD TURKEY" not easy but i have managed it, although in the early stages i succumbed one or two times.

I was a smoker for 50 years.Never thought i would do it but i have.
