registration district for bow, london 1861

trying to trace a relative whom in 1901 states birth in Bow. Ldn in 1661 yet his surname does not appear in the births for this year. using a wild card i have searched xname for 1961 but to narrow my search does anyone know the registration district for bow in 1861 i.e.name or initial ref e.g. 2a ???

help appreciated

well it wasnt compulsory to register births til 1875 so your relative may just not have been registered
