Can someone please explain why all of a sudden we seem to be talking in the third person ?
I'm sure I'm not the only one who is finding this somewhat disconcerting.
I'm all for love and peace but we seem to be getting large doses of sugar and spice at the moment.
Not aiming this at anyone in particular just beginning to wonder where all the usual folks have disappeared to ?

lots of new names and new styles, a lot of 'oldies' conspicuous by their absence also.

I do find it a little disconcerting, reading 'third person' threads in as much as I wonder whether they are talking about a 'third person' literally....ie their OH or friend lol.

but in the spirit of it....

One wonders whether one is in the old or new category can't say I have noticed the difference, but most of it floats over my head anyway lol make love not war!

I have been away from the internet since last Thursday evening.

Once upon a time, after not having visited the site for such a length of time, there would have been more than a hundred pages of threads to skim through. However, this morning, I only had to whiz through less than 30 (this applies to the general board).

Its hard coming up with new material Joy ; )

I think some of the oldies dont post anymore coz some just dont like change.
There are still alot here , but they only post on peoples threads that they know and feel comfy with.
There will always be new members and changes , something we all have to get used to it lol

Hi Lin, I see what you mean but some of we oldies are still around and posting. I have learnt to accept changes and try to ignore the niggles that bother me (putting it down to being a grouchy old woman). Personally I would rather see sugary posts than some of the evil ones of the past.

Just have to mention one of the ways of speaking that really grates with me though. Why do people ask a question when they are stating a fact? Not just on here but in the media too. why do they say 'how good is this?' when they mean 'this is good'?

~~I put it down to...people from all different walks of life..different personalities..different ages..We all have a different perspective on looking at things..as a consequence of our life experiences...
As in life..there will be clashes..diiferences of opinion..which causes debate..sometimes..`conflict`
I purposely did not come on here yesterday..my brain was..overloaded!

This board sometimes `mirrors`..what is happening out in real world..its not ALWAYS sweetness and light..I am not an `oldie`..this is when we start to divide..and put `labels` on people..
harmony is a difficult thing to master..sign of the times..~~

~~~~~~~ to all...just seen this Lin...each to their own is my opinion...I personally find it a little difficult to read the ''third person'' posts but what I don't like I don't read. We are all differant and free to be so...
