I think people will get sick tired and fed up with me batting on about the 70's.......but looking back it was such a great time for me.......the babies, good friends, good music......the 60's were so good too with jobs and prices not too high and they were building council houses then.....

I think everyone would say that their own young years were the best... and I'm no different.
I was also born in 1940.
Children today do not have the lovely freedom to play that I had.... even with two strict parents who wanted to know where we were at all times.

I have to day though, that parents today have a very hard time of it.. I hope you all find it fun though, enjoy your children.

As for fashions, I love the 50's fashions. very feminine and nice to wear.
Of course the men never wore feminine clothes...;-0)
But you all know what I meant!!

I think growing up in the 1960s in the countryside was good. I enjoyed the freedom to go off for hours at a time and to spend ages curled up with a good book if I wanted. Kids these days seem to belong to so many organised activities that they don't have so much time just to be kids and play. But my cousin died of leukaemia in the 1960s and he might have survived today.

I love my computer and HD TV, also my husband and my sister wouldn't be here if it hadn't been for modern medicines either. We hear such horror stories via the media but reading old newspapers has made me realise how dreadful life could be for so many in Victorian times and earlier.

It's much safer and healthier to be alive now than in the Middle Ages.

I'm really grateful that I can get glasses to sort out my really bad mixed astigmatism. One of my teeth has decided to spontaneously fall to bits since Friday so I'm looking forward to making an appointment with my excellent dentist tomorrow.

All in all........I think I'll stick where I am.
