Theres not much of interest in Oldham it self but the surrounding areas are quite nice and the Saddleworth Villages are worth visiting

You can catch a bus to Uppermill from Oldham st in Manchester Uppermill has some shops a park, a musuem, a canal where on some days there are boat trips
There are quite a few cafes and pubs where you can get a meal

Oldham Mumps is a railway station.

Manchester: great for shopping, great for eating, great for culture, typical city centre.
Oh, and dont miss Canal Street!

Bury outdoor market is the best in Britain- or so the sign says and if you go to Bury get the East Lancs Railway and travel by steam train through the Irwell Valley- beautiful.

The Moors: plenty of walking and all up hill. Get a map of the Rossendale way (45 miles) and give me a wave ~~~~~ on the way past!
