1)they say that memories are golden,
Well maybe that is true,
But we never wanted memroies,
We only wanted you,

or,
2)

Wonderful memories woven in gold,
This is a picture I tenderly hold,
Deep in our hearts a memory is kept,
To love and cherish and never forget,

Carol B,
You are so fondley thought of -often,x

Jax's poem always makes me think of my mum... particularly this verse which I find very hard to even look at as my mum died before seeing the spring.....

I sit beside the fire and think
of how the world will be
when winter comes without a spring
that I shall ever see.

c & Pd without 'looking' lol

So fair and welcome are the memories
which linger like the heady scent of garden flowers....

then waft, unbidden, and so remind
of the sweetness that those who lived have left behind

A flower' s name , both sweet and wild
my mother called her fairy child.
Now in this garden , share my love
for she who watches from above.
Please sit awhile with me and know
love endures where roses grow.

Hi Rose :)

Dont know if these are any good for you :

An Angel Has Spoken

An Angel has spoken
Her words did I hear
Be not afraid my child
I am always so near.

I lighten your path
I hold you within
You are not alone
The veil is so thin.

I hear you in silence
Your fears do I sense
Darkness is ending
Light shall commence.

Your pains do I share
My heart reaches for you
I weep when you suffer
My love is so true.

As a child you called to me
You needed me there
My wings to protect you
To guide you with care.

With age...you forgot me
You looked another way
But I am still with you
How I long for the day.

As days turn to months
And months turn to years
You find yourself seeking
The Angels in tears.

I fly to you swiftly
With wings soaring high
To embrace your sweet spirit
Behold...it is I.

I walk with you always
Never shall I stray
I am your Angel
I will show you the way.

~ from a poem by Michael Williams ~

Wings Of An Angel

The wings of an angel
So pure and so white
The wings of an angel
Holding you tight.

The wings of an angel
Caressing your skin
The wings of an angel
Keeping love within.

These wings from an angel
Are my gift to you
These wings from an angel
Will help see you through.

I dont know if you will like it Rose hun but heres one

Its actually from Lord of the Rings its called Bilbos Song

I sit beside the fire and think
of all that I have seen,
of meadow-flowers and butterflies
in summers that have been;

Of yellow leaves and gossamer
in autumns that there were,
with morning mist and silver sun
and wind upon my hair.

I sit beside the fire and think
of how the world will be
when winter comes without a spring
that I shall ever see.

For still there are so many things
that I have never seen:
in every wood and every spring
there is adifferent green.

I sit beside the fire and think
of people long ago,
and people who will see a world
that I shall never know.

But all the while I sit and think
of times there were before,
I listen for returning feet
and voices at the door.

And this is it in elvish

Im nauthon nan naur nu ngilith
O naid i gennin im
O lyth e-barth a gwilwilith
Ne laer i vanner lim

I think by the fire under the starlight about things that I saw
About flowers of the field and butterflies in summers that went quickly

O lhiath a golas malen
Ne daint i lais gwennin
Na chith ah anor celebren
A gwaewath or find nin

About gossamer strands and yellow leaves in autumns past
With mist and silver sun and winds upon my hair

Im nauthon nan naur vi vuil
Maven natha i ardhon
Ias tol i riw ben ethuil
Ir im u-genithon

I think by the fire in shadow, how the world will be
When the winter comes without a spring that I shall not see

An nadath laew nar annan
I ulu im cennin
Vin eryn ned ethuil ban
Nar ennas laegath gwin.

For many things there are yet that I never saw
In the wood in every spring there are new green things

Im hevin nan naur a nauthon
O gwaith nedin lu iaur
A gwaith i cenitha ardhon
Ir istathon u aur.

I sit by the fire and think about people in old times
And people who will see a world that I will see on no day

Dan iar im nan naur peliel
Oh aurath ioer nauthon
Laston a thail etheliel
A lemmaid nan annon.
But when I, by the fading fire, think about ancient days
I listen for returning feet and voices at the door.

First scrabble, then Bowling,,,,now Face book has a garden? I really have no idea what's out there :-)

What a lovely idea about writing up a poem for your mum. I'm sure anything from the heart would be perfect but I now it must be hard for you. (((hugs)))
