whats your recipe for menopause

Onwe Report 9 Jul 2008 22:51

I scream at the animals, that does not include the kids and OH

maggiewinchester Report 9 Jul 2008 22:55

The word says it - keep away from men - they're the problem!!

Then your 'hot flushes' merely become a duvet that's too big a tog!!!

Libby Report 9 Jul 2008 23:01

Get everyone else to leave home and let us get on with it. They are always wrong anyway!!

I read that using soya products helped.......I was lucky, didn't have all the bad all happened to my Sis instead....

Onwe Report 9 Jul 2008 23:10

i am 46 not sure if i am early or stress. I do find i laugh for no reason.

Libby Report 9 Jul 2008 23:11

Mine started at about 46 - still getting odd flushes at 55. Still a crabby bag according to OH but that may be something to do wth living with him!!

It's never easy

Onwe Report 9 Jul 2008 23:13

I found my self having a go at OH for no reason, It was like watching a movie. I hate that side of me I will go and hibernte.

ChrisofWessex Report 9 Jul 2008 23:18

evening primrose tablets helped - also suffered badly from insomnia - used to lie awake planning the slowest and most painful death for OH who was snoring loudly!!

OMG!! mean I have only 6 yrs to go...

Libby Report 9 Jul 2008 23:30

Have to agree with you about the movie bit. Used to feel embarrased just thinking about my reactions to stupid things.

Now I think "what the heck" - he got away with "murder" before my menopause. lol.

Poor s*d is having to put up with me and my 14 year old daughter. Shame

maggiewinchester Report 9 Jul 2008 23:39

I spent a couple of summers when I was about 47 wearing black - gross sweating!!!
Since then, apart from no periods - very little. I cry at sad bits in films/tv shows etc, but just think of it as giving my eyes a good clear out!!!
Oh and I play up the memory thing LOL

Lindy Report 9 Jul 2008 23:46

If it was not for HRT I would kill myself or commit murder...

If fact it is time I went to see my Doctor to get stronger tabs as I have been on the same ones for the last six years.

Fortunately, our doctor is a woman and is older then me who also had a lousy time with menopause.

Lindy ;))))))))))

Libby Report 10 Jul 2008 00:05

Lol about the doctor.

Mines a MAN.

The same one who asked me to compare on a scale of 1 to 10 how earache compared with child birth. As if he would know!!

maggiewinchester Report 10 Jul 2008 01:00

Actually I do have one problem with the menopause - my line manager - about the same age as me!! She's had a humour lobotomy (not necessarily to do with the menopause) but the stupid C*w can't see why paying invoices isn't the 'be all and end all' of my life!!!!

I have a life outside work and like to play!!!!

This is, apparently, an 'unseemly' desire for someone my (our) age!!!
D'oh, she should get a life!!!

Onwe Report 10 Jul 2008 03:22

well done maggie i think its the answer you cannot change meno pause but having a life outside of work, kids etc. I laugh alot but have to temper my sence of humour according to the company

Glenys the Menace! Report 10 Jul 2008 10:07

Reading this thread (thanks for putting it up!), I've picked up a few tips myself. Just over 2 weeks ago, I had a hysterectomy - ovaries, too - so am expecting something or other in a few weeks (hah! Poor choice of words there, eh, lol).
Any more tips?

AnnCardiff Report 10 Jul 2008 10:49

well the menopause never bothered me and I never bothered it!! for which I am ever grateful.

One small point though, and a little on the delicate side, a side effect of the menopause made me go to my GP who prescribed HRT which was perfect - however, since my lovely husband passed away I no longer have a need for it. Hope that explains the problem!!

Roxanne Report 10 Jul 2008 14:00

Exercise and healthy food, I take Ymea too,I feel great:-)

I really dont want to go down the H.R.T path if I can help it, but if I feel I need it I would go for it,so far so good.
watch this space;-))
