Yes, always use fresh although now all the family have left home have changed my menus. Made a lovely pork and apple casserole yesterday...delicious!

We eat more fresh fish and chicken and lots of veg and fruit.

OK I confess,

I have used frozen mash at times. I've found it useful for the kids becuase I can do very small amounts (sometimes 1 small 2 year old sized portion) very quickly. I've tasted it to make sure I wasn't feeding them rubbish and I have to say it was fine.

I am not ashamed :o)

We have always cooked from scratch since we were married in 1973. a) it is far cheaper b) you get much better food and c) you don't get overdosed with sugar and salt.

We are having a lamb roast for 4 adults today, homemade ice cream for afters.

Total cost less than £10

I would never dream of buying ready made mash.
I do buy jars of sauces though ;((.

I use a lot of fresh fruit and veg and make soup a lot.
