Oh dear Gwen, this isn't looking good. Depending on what these trojans are, some are keyloggers and worse, you may not be able to successfully remove them with AVG or any anti virus.

First I would recommend that you change all your passwords from a clean computer.

You really need to think about reformating your computer, it will mean you lose everything on it, unless you already have it backed up. Reformatting will depend on what type of operating system and whether you have a recovery disc or not, or if you have a partition on your hard drive that is a recovery partition.

Assuming you have access to the net using another PC download the software in the link I provided above, then transfer it to the infected computer by CD, start you PC in safe mode and install the software then run it. It should clear your problem.

Just spoken to Gwen on the phone. She said the E-mail was from a child holiday web site. Also the e-mail in question was checked and thought to not contain any virus. When Gwen saw the error message is told her it was

chances are Gwen got the malware on her computer from an infected site rather than an email attatchment, this is now the most common way to infect a computer with this type of "your computer is infected" pop ups

This site was infected by a similar bit of malware a wee while ago if you remember.
