Mick - I am so delighted and relieved that you are safe and your chooks! How very lucky you have been , I do believe all our thoughts and prayers have been answered. I hope you manage to get water soon and the best of luck to all your neighbours too.

Yay Mick, relieved to hear you are ok. It must be awful to be so close, so many around you. Very scary stuff.

Now up to 173 lives lost and more expected, the fires are still burning. 5000 homeless.

To put it in perspective for those of you in the UK & elsewhere, almost 900,000 acres have now been burnt (or about 1350 square miles). That's the entire county of Shropshire!

It's massive. Hope the people who have lost everything get some help soon.

The arsonists should be charged with PREMEDITATED MASS MURDER, if they're ever caught.

I got email from my cousin to say she is safe, and I pray she remains that way.

Just checking in briefly as i still am without power and really need to
use the generator to keep the beer cold! lol

We had a meeting today in the community hall - never seen so many tired and dirty people - but we won - all in good spirits - and it did us all
good to tell each other our "war stories"
