I believe in some countries it is compulsory to show up at the polling station. Is it Australia which imposes a fine on those who don't go?

I thought it may be an idea to try this in the UK, as apparently there are quite a few who don't bother.....but on second thoughts am now wondering who would pocket the money from the fines? Perhaps not such a great idea, then!!

I'm sick of all their lies too, but at least all these MPs shame stories are knocking other stuff off the frontpages, ie the Katie & Peter split, which I'm sick of, don't give a flying t*ss about and could, quite frankly, manage to live the rest of my life quite happily without ever hearing their names mentioned again.
Think I need cup of tea now!

Perhaps a Eurovision win by Jade Ewen this evening would cheer us up a bit.

PS. Just discovered Graham Norton replaces Terry Wogan. Oh gawd!

The things we forgot to remember. My memory goes back to at least half past eight this morning..

An old thread resurrected in honour of the forthcoming European elections & the proposed Scottish referendum.
