Hello,

Not been around for a while but am still crafting away slowly. Mostly not scrapbooking it has to be said, I've just completed a clock for my craft room and having had a break after making christmas cards I'm considering making a few decorations.
I'm also thinking about a christmas book this year. I last did one in 2006 when we went away for christmas but am trying to make up my mind whether to sign up for a prompt led online class that runs through out December. Would mean preparing the book in advance so i need to decide soon

Do you mean a Christmas scrap book Sarah? Not come across prompt led, is it what it sounds like?

Taken a long time to reply but I am finally back.

Yes a prompt led online class is pretty much exactly what it sounds like.

Every day you get an email with something to inspire your page for the day. The idea about the christmas one is that you build up a scrapbook that isn't just about this year but about your christmas in general so you get prompts about traditions etc. Most of the examples I've seen in the past have been a cross between a scrapbook and a journal often in books that people have made themselves in unusual sizes.

When I did my christmas book a few years ago I used a blank mini album I bought for the purpose and decorated it first adding photos and journalling later. I think mine was about 5"x7" so big enough for standard photos but not so big that it took forever. Some people do go for 12x12 but a page a day for december in that size would be too much for me.

Have now got the papers I want to use for my christmas project and am preparing for a cyber crop over on the UKscrappers site. Basically two and a bit days of online classes and fun and games

Sounds fun Sarah, not sure I would have the time though. I have got another page planned but not stuck of my Gt Nieces and Gt gt Niece and nephew, that one is for the Family history album and is called The Next Generation. away this weekend though so it will have to wait for sticking and embellishing

Why is it that, despite having a small drawer full of card scraps, when I want a piece for matting I never have the colour I want so have to start a whole new sheet?

Did anyone watch Dawn Bibby on qvc yesterday, she showed the twisted card, wish I had seen them before I bought some to try, wasnt to impressed with them , still I will have a go , I am desperate to get on with my scrapping,
Sallie, hope to send you some mags asp. when I can get to them....
When I first started crafting, I used to buy everthing from qvc, there wasnt many craft shops available and I didnt use a computer, so spent far too much with them, now its very easy to buy all the craft stuff you want almost anywhere, I somtimes buy qvc stuff off e-bay, at half the cost... always worth having a look round....

No didn't see that Jean, are those the cards where like decoupage you have pieces of the picture that go on top of one another so the picture is 'skewed'? If so i don't like the finished result.
