Not sure how easy that would be Tess as I put it up chapter by chapter. If search is working you could try putting 'Life story' and see what happens. If you can't see it I will put a couple of chapters at a time on this thread. Let me know.

Good to see you both Mary and Gerard.
Hope that you are keeping well.
Gerard, I hope that the reason that you are keeping quiet isn't because you are in the naughty corner!

Ann, where can I find your life story? I'd love to read it.

We have had some snow here in Birmingham, England. Well it was snowing at around 6am. I haven't looked out of the window since then as I have come back to bed (in the nope of getting at least SOME sleep) and the curtains are closed.

Hello Jenny I see you have been a member as long as I have but have only made 73 posts. Have you just been reading all that time or were you a free member and unable to post? Good to see you posting now anyway.

Hi Tess, I have actually written my life story. I did put some of it on Genes a few years ago, you may not have seen i. I have never had it printed but have printed off a copy from the PC and it is on a CD as well. Took a long time and was great fun to do, but I think it would be too expensive to have published.

It would be good to revive this thread although people that were on it don't seem to be around much now. Bridget did make a sort of come back but didn't come on here, Jan who was on here originally is not on Genes any more (she was also in greaders and the writing group). Gerard is not around much either. Could be it is just the two of us!! :-D

Good to see you on here Jenny. I toohope that my son and grandsons will show an interest at some time.
The only one at all interested at the moment is my soon to be eleven, youngest grandchild, Albert,

We haven't posted much on here for ages. It would be good though to resurrect the thread if at all possible. I used to enjoy our little "chats".

I had my second eye " done" in mid-November and all went well. I will be seeing my optician later this week so that I can get a new prescription for new glasses.

While on the subject of Family Trees, my sis-in-law has done a lot of research on her tree. Getting copies of wills, finding inquest reports, plus details of a divorce around 1880, Then she got very organised, wrote it all up, and has had it published. Just a few copies for the family.
I haven't checked his much it cost, but am sure that it wasn't cheap. This way though, she knows that it can be read by her descendants regardless of the changes modern technology may bring.
I keep saying that I will do one too, one of these years, but have never got round to it, not even a first chapter!

Would anyone else consider doing a book, and getting it published for future generations?

Hope that everyone had a good Christmas and that you will all have a great 2016.

Hello everyone, just read your posts, they're really interesting. I've been doing my tree so that I've got something for my kids to follow when I've popped my clogs. They're not really interested at the moment, but I hope when they're older that they will be. It's important to know where we are from I think.

Just seen this on the boards. I've checked - haven't been on this thread since April 2014.
Have now got a Tablet and still getting used to it. Good to see you Gerard. Thanks for reviving this thread. I will now have to go through the posts that I missed while my computer was in a bad mood.

My last posting referred to my Football team, West Bromwich Albion, hoping that they would stay in the Premiere League. Well they managed it that year (2013-2014) and the following year (2014-2015). Now keeping my fingers crossed that they do the same this year.

I am keeping well, still living in the Birmingham area and getting out and about, mainly with the help of the Ring & Ride. (Special bus) where would I be without them!

Earlier this year though, did manage to go to a wedding in Wallasey. Went with one of my brothers by train. It was the wedding of my cousin Linda. I "found" her when researching the family tree.

Going to have the cataract removed in my second eye soon. All on the National Health. Looking forward to having this second eye 'adjusted' so that I can have a new correct prescription for my glasses. Will be wonderful to be able yo see properly again.

Hope that you are all keeping well.

Tess. ?

Hi Everyone

Well it is almost a year since the last post - Oh my the time has flown by - OH and I are still both very well, although my arthritis is a bit painful, and her thyroid problems are permanent. She is progressing with her book - a bit slower than expected - but hopefully we have a result next year.
Regards
Gerard

Gerard, good luck to your OH with her book, I hope she is enjoying writing it. Writing can be very cathartic. Pleased to hear that you have both kept well and that you are enjoying your evening job.

Jan, I hope you do rejoin us. Greaders has very few people in now but those few are all very keen to continue. The writing group is in a bit of a slump, only three of us writing and we are very sporadic. (or lazy).

Bridget, second is good. We usually join in with the Ex Pats quizes when in Tenerife but our team is usually nearer the bottom than the top. But it is, as you say, a lot of fun. :-D
It is very grey here at the moment, looks like it might brighten up later, quite mild though for November. :-)

This morning I posted 2 cards to Europe and three small parcels to UK and it cost me over £8. Glad I don't have any more parcels to post.

Good morning to everyone,
The weather in Peniscola is chilly and the sky grey with all the trees swaying.
We went out last night to the English Bar and husband had 30 people turn up. Not bad for this time of year.
Our table came second and that was because 3 were very good and I helped a bit!!!

Foot Ball! West Ham still my team!

Bridget :-)

Well it has been a pretty good year for OH and myself. We have been well and enjoying life. She is writing a book (has about four chapters finished already) about her early experiences (mostly factual but some fiction and names changed). I am really pleased for her. She has a friend who has just had her first book published, and she has been most helpful and encouraging. Although I am retired I work a few hours in the evening, cleaning at an insurance company in the city, about three months ago the supervisor left and I was asked if I would like to take over. It is a lot of responsibility and I seem to be working a lot harder than before, but there is a lot of satisfaction. I don't know what I would do without my work!
My football team (Arsenal) are struggling a little bit this season, although Bridget's West Ham are doing particularly well.
Our cat Sox is still going strong, he is fifteen now, and gets more and more spoiled each day :-)
More news soon - hoping to see my brother from USA in December too.

Love and prayers for all
<3 :-) <3 :-) <3 :-) <3 :-)

Still struggling along here in Menorca. It gets more like the Marie Celeste every week with people either going back to England permenently or at least until next spring,
We´ve had a bad year healthwise & have put all thoughts of moving to the mainland on the back burner. Had a real shock back in July when one of our closest friends committed suicide. Still miss him so much. Christmas won´t be the same without him.
On the plus side, the weather has been amazing up to now. We are still managing lunch outside most days. We´ll probably pay for it in the New Year.
