Land of Hope and Glory would be great - much more rousing

Oh don't start me on this one.....

Land of Hope and Glory (which was used at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester as far as I remember) would be much more rousing than God save the Queen. Which is frankly, depressing!!!

There have been suggestions to adopt LOHAG but nobody has the guts to push it forward past the idea stage.

A very good game, and nail biting stuff.
Well done England proud of you.

Ps. The national anthem that we heard at Twickernham is not English it was the British anthem we heard.

Only saw the 2nd half ( told taxi driver to put his foot down so I could get home to watch it. Stupid day to work really hahaha) Todays match is the one I hate the most as I'm torn between England and Wales. English born and bred, but I love Wales and everything Welsh. Mum always said that her Grandad used to say he came from Wales but haven't found any evidence as yet.
Good match from what I saw, thought Wales were going to creep up from behind and snatch it in the last 10 mins.

My OH has just told me, (in his sulk) that he is now going on his farm and will harvest his roses, well tear them up, and I won't be getting any of them.

PMSL....he was just bragging about the Welsh Roar seconds before our try....I said..'what Welsh Roar...I can only hear chariots!' lol

Well done our boys...

Well done England

It wont stop me singing, The Land of My Fathers!!! It might work next time

Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi,
Gwlad beirdd a chantorion, enwogion o fri;
Ei gwrol ryfelwyr, gwladgarwyr tra mâd,
Tros ryddid gollasant eu gwaed.

Cytgan

Gwlad, Gwlad, pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad.
Tra môr yn fur i'r bur hoff bau,
O bydded i'r hen iaith barhau.

Hen Gymru fynyddig, paradwys y bardd,
Pob dyffryn, pob clogwyn i'm golwg sydd hardd;
Trwy deimlad gwladgarol, mor swynol yw si
Ei nentydd, afonydd i mi.

Os treisiodd y gelyn fy ngwald tan ei droed,
Mae hen iaith y Cymry mor fyw ac erioed,
Ni luddiwyd yr awen gan erchyll law brad,
Na thelyn berseiniol fy ngwlad.

I have enjoyed this Chat
