Oh bless him what a good age he lived to. He gave a lot of people great entertainment. My Dad thought he was hilarious. RIP Norman

How sad - but what a good age to reach. We should all be so lucky. He gave people such a lot of joy.

R.I.P, Norman, a life well lived.

A funny man, a good actor who won a BAFTA for a most moving portrayal of a terminally ill man, a kind and genuine human being.

RIP Norman Wisdom , remembered also for his love of the Isle of man where he lived for many years and was tireless in his promotion of it's virtues :)

Wonder if they will show - was it Early Bird Dairies? The shot of him falling downstairs whilst carrying a cup of tea and tearing the wallpaper off as he went - just the memory had OH laughing tonight.

Wonderful man who gave pleasure to many and who lived in my favourite part of the world for so many years.

They will probably show some kind of tribute to him on the coming months.

He made me laugh so much when I was a kid.

They broke the mould when they made him lol He was incredible, I am so glad he has had a pretty good life altho he has been quite poorly the last few months with several strokes, apparently he was still fairly independent till very recently. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Somehow I can't see him resting in peace, his was such a spirit that could never be still.
He will be entertaining people for evermore.

Norman had child like qualities, playing pranks & making people laugh in his personal life as well as in the limelight.

Throughout his life he never lost this ability to make people smile.

A grand age of 95, he leaves behind a legacy of laughter,

He will be missed, but what a lifetime he's lived.

My thoughts go out to his family & friends x

The day the death of Tony Curtis was announced they showed 'Some like it hot' that same evening. Was expecting to see a Norman film. No mention so far.

i looked up his life yesterday
the last 4 years were so sad

ChrisofWessex

ChrisofWessex Report 6 Oct 2010 12:42

He loved the Isle of Man where he lived for past 30 years and he died there. Sad to hear that he had suffered a series of strokes in past year which affected him mentally as well as physically. He did not have much luck with wives but he did manage to raise his two children.
